AirAsia Philippines Surpasses 6.6 Million Passengers, Exceeding 2023 Total

Manila, 13 November 2024 –AirAsia Philippines, Asia's leading low-cost airline, has already welcomed over 6.6 million passengers in 2024, surpassing its total for 2023, driven by a surge in holiday travel that began in November and is expected to peak in December.

As of mid-November, AirAsia Philippines has already booked 89% of its total seat sales for 2023, with bookings up by 6% compared to the same period last year. Additionally, 79% of the eight-million target for 2024 has already been achieved. This growth is driven by an influx of provincial homecomings and an increasing appetite for leisure travel.

AirAsia's highly anticipated Piso sale this November 4-10 sold a total of 165,000 seats, with Cebu emerging as the most booked domestic destination and Taipei leading international bookings. Meanwhile, for overall bookings from November to December, Boracay remains the top destination.

AirAsia Philippines Head of Communications and Public Affairs & First Officer Steve Dailisan said “With the busiest holiday season just around the corner, we are optimistic in reaching our passenger goal for 2024. This time of year is extra special for Filipinos, as many are eager to reconnect with loved ones. We’re already seeing strong demand across both our domestic and international routes.  We encourage our guests to look out for exciting holiday promotions, as we remain committed to delivering an exceptional travel experience that makes AirAsia the airline of choice.”
