AirAsia Philippines Gears Up for Post-Holiday Passenger Surge

January 5 2025, MANILA — As the holiday season concludes, AirAsia Philippines remains  fully prepared to accommodate the surge of passengers returning from their holiday travels. The airline’s dedicated team of AllStars remains on high alert and on standby at key airports to ensure a seamless travel experience for all passengers, particularly as we anticipate a peak in passenger numbers starting today.

From December 16, 2024, to January 6, 2025, AirAsia Philippines served over 400,000 passengers, significantly surpassing its projected count of 300,000 for the period showing that Filipinos are gradually regaining their enthusiasm for travel. A smooth operation was recorded last Christmas and New Year in AirAsia flights, further demonstrating the airline’s commitment to delivering quality and great value service to its guests.

“We expect a continuous increase in passenger traffic at our check-in counters until January 10th, as many of our kababayans have extended their holiday leave to enjoy more time with their loved ones in the provinces. This is why we remain fully prepared and will continue our operational readiness after the holidays and into the upcoming  lively fiesta season in key destinations like Kalibo, Cebu, and Bohol.” AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head First Officer Steve Dailisan.

As January marks the beginning of the vibrant fiesta season across the Philippines, AirAsia guests can look forward to affordable and seamless travel to these popular destinations. The recent advisory from the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB) on fuel surcharges further ensures stability in pricing. Airlines can collect a fuel surcharge ranging from P117 to P342 for domestic flights, depending on distance, and from P385.7 to P2,867.82 for international flights.

To help passengers traveling back after the holidays, AirAsia Philippines offers the following tips for a hassle-free journey:

  1. Arrive Early: Passengers are advised to be at the airport at least 3 hours before their scheduled flight to allow sufficient time for check-in and security procedures.

  2. Check Flight Status: Stay informed about flight schedules through the AirAsia Move App or at airasia.com
