AirAsia launches Taipei to Osaka direct flights from as low as TWD1,888*

TAIPEI, 29 October 2018 – AirAsia today announces the launch of four times weekly direct flights between Taipei and Osaka which commence from 30 January 2019. Promotional fares from as low as TWD1,888* excluding tax one-way, will be made available on airasia.com and AirAsia mobile app from midday tomorrow (30 October 2018 1200hrs, GMT+8) for travel between 30 January 2019 and 30 March 2019.

 

From this date, AirAsia will be the only Low Cost Carrier (LCC) operating on this route with its wide body A330-300 aircraft, providing either 367 or 377 seats. 

 

To celebrate the launch of this new route, AirAsia gave away 400 free seats (at zero fare excluding tax) to excited fans who queued very early this morning at the media event venue ATT 4 FUN Taipei.

According to Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation, Japan has been the top destination for Taiwanese tourists for five consecutive years and the number of visitors to Japan continues to grow at a rate of 7% each year. As a Southeast Asian aviation leader, AirAsia has established a rich and intensive flight network throughout Southeast Asia and continues to expand its network in Japan and Taiwan.

 

AirAsia will soon operate nine direct international routes from Taipei and Kaohsiung to various cities in Malaysia, Philippines, Thailand and Japan. These routes are: Taipei to Kuala Lumpur; Kaohsiung to Kuala Lumpur; Taipei to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah; Taipei to Manila; Kaohsiung to Manila; Taipei to Cebu; Taipei to Clark and Taipei to Chiang Mai, with the latest addition to the airline group’s flight network being Taipei to Osaka, Japan, which also allows guests to easily connect onto Honolulu, Hawaii via Osaka.
