#InThisTogether: Living the Work-from-Home-Allstar Life!

Indeed, all of us across the globe live in an unprecedented time where working from home is the new normal. While some find it hard to cope with at first, many have grown accustomed to it and develop new ways to not just adapt, but also to learn and improve ourselves while staying safe at home.

At AirAsia, it is no different as all of us are #InThisTogether.

Allstars are a creative and talented bunch, and in almost the blink of an eye, once COVID-19 started gaining momentum and impacting businesses and travel across the world and our industry particularly, we at AirAsia India had our Business Continuity Plans in place (on 18 March). There was a host of activities and engagements planned to keep us all occupied while staying at home (aside from regular work, of course).

From morning yoga sessions, grooming workshops , virtual coffee with CEO, engagement with leadership, book reading sessions to BYOB Zoom parties with the team, there’s something for everyone across the AirAsia Group to go through this tough season together.

Work from home has had an impact on the operations of our contact centre. Allstars from the operations departments in India have volunteered to be trained and engage with customers to  help resolve their concerns since travel is restricted.

Talking about the various engagement initiatives, AirAsia India, Head of People & Culture, Anjali Chatterjee said, “This lockdown has opened up new opportunities for us. We continue to train and develop our 3200+ Allstars through video, audio and e-learning modules. There is something about engaging them all that excites us and we as a team are ready to take on any challenge that comes our way. We are #inthistogether and #makeithappen!

However, aside from these fun elements, Allstars are being given a host of opportunities to reskill and upskill themselves with digital skill sets that will allow them to navigate through an increasingly new business landscape especially in a post-COVID-19 environment.

Some of the training programs are also via the RedBeat Academy which is a collaboration between AirAsia Group’s corporate venture arm, RedBeat Ventures with Google. The lessons cover five different learning paths in webinar format involving up to 800 Allstars per session. Each Allstar will receive certification from Google upon completion. Allstars are able to follow learning paths from topics like  ICT & Cybersecurity, Data Analytics , Data Engineering , Data Science & Software Development.
