KUALA LUMPUR, 7 November 2017 - tonton, Malaysia’s #1 OTT (over-the-top) platform and the first and largest homegrown streaming service has joined forces with ROKKI, AirAsia’s in-flight Wi-Fi service provider to create a unique in-flight streaming experience for the world’s best low-cost airline’s passengers.
The partnership allows AirAsia passengers to binge watch a selection of their favourite tonton shows that include films, dramas, lifestyle, documentary and kids programmes from 10,000 feet in the air, all for free. The latest in-flight experience was officially introduced on the 7th of November 2017 onboard AirAsia’s plane flying to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah carrying media personalities as well as other commercial passengers heading to the popular tourist destination.
The exclusive in-flight experience to Kota Kinabalu was filled with an array of entertainment by AirAsia Fun Team and special performances from ‘faces of tonton’ such as Ayda Jebat and Redza Rosli together with Baki Zainal and Rickman Chia, hosts of the 8TV’s Let’s Cycle lifestyle programme. All-time kids’ favourite Ejen Ali (also available on ROKKI) mascot also made a special appearance during the event.
Meanwhile, an on-ground press conference at the Tune Hotel lobby in Kota Kinabalu was held on the same day the flight arrived from Kuala Lumpur, were attended by Ben Jern Loh General Manager of tonton and Choudhury Hassan Peter, Group Head of Ancillary of AirAsia.
