SEPANG, 18 September 2018 - Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Women, Family and Community Development YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail today officiated Taska Krista@RedQ, a child care centre at AirAsia headquarters, RedQ.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Women, Family and Community Development YAB Dato’ Seri Dr. Wan Azizah Dr. Wan Ismail said, “We want to have more child care centers at workplace that are registered, that fulfill all the requirements and that are equipped with qualified child care workers. This is an issue which needs an urgent attention. I hope more organisations will start looking into setting up in-house child care centers.”

The child care centre spans 413 square metres and includes four classrooms, nursing lounge, sick bay, child-sized toilets, dining area, pantry, drying room, administration office, indoor and outdoor play areas, as well as developmentally appropriate toys, learning aids and multimedia facilities.

Operated by Krista Education, an expert in early childhood education for over 22 years, the centre accepts Allstars’ children aged from 11 months to 6 years for a minimal monthly fee.

Key executives from AirAsia who were present at the ceremony include AirAsia Group CEO and AirAsia X Co-Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, AirAsia Group Berhad Board of Director Dato’ Aziz Bakar and Noor Neelofa, AirAsia Deputy Group CEO (Airline Business) Bo Lingam, AirAsia Malaysia CEO Riad Asmat, AirAsia Hong Kong and Macao CEO Celia Lao and AirAsia X Malaysia CEO Benyamin Ismail.

AirAsia Group CEO and AirAsia X Co-Group CEO Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said, “One of AirAsia’s core values is we put people first, not just our guests but also our Allstars. That means creating a happy, healthy workplace for all our staff, including working parents. This child care centre is an important part of what we are trying to do by providing our staff peace of mind knowing their child is well taken care of. I’ve always said that a company is only as good as its people, and I believe that if you take good care of your workforce, they will surely look after your customers.”

In addition to the child care centre, other facilities in RedQ include a clinic, physiotherapy lab, a gym with personal trainer, sleeping pods, cafeteria, T&Co coffee bar, salad bar, a three-storey spiral slide and more.
