All AirAsia Philippines destinations no longer require COVID-19 test for fully vaccinated guests

No more face shields inside the aircraft

Manila, 17 November 2021 – As holiday season approaches, AirAsia Philippines today announces that all its domestic destinations no longer require COVID-19 test for fully vaccinated individuals.

This comes after Zamboanga City issued EO BC691-2021 dated 16 Nov which allows fully vaccinated guests with only vaccination card and S-pass as entry requirements.

To date, Puerto Princesa, Caticlan (Boracay), Bohol, Kalibo, Tacloban, Bacolod, Iloilo, General Santos, Cagayan De Oro, Zamboanga and Davao have already eased travel requirements for fully vaccinated guests.

Further, beginning 16 November, AirAsia guests are also no longer required to wear face shield at the airport, inside the aircraft and all destinations under Alert levels 1, 2 and 3, pursuant to IATF Resolution 148-D, and as recommended by the Department of Transportation.

AirAsia Philippines Spokesperson Steve Dailisan said, “AirAsia is very excited for all these exciting developments in the travel and tourism sector. Slowly but surely, we will achieve that sense of normalcy we all have been praying for. Likewise, there is no room for complacency. AirAsia will continue to strictly implement established health and safety protocols for the protection of all our guests and staff.”

With the expected pent up demand for air travel, AirAsia will be ramping up its domestic frequency for the month of December. AirAsia will also resume its international routes beginning 4 December with its 1x weekly to Singapore and 2x weekly to Hong Kong to service Overseas Filipino Workers and business travelers.

To celebrate the resumption of international travel, AirAsia guests flying to and coming from Singapore and Hongkong may avail of up to 30% discount -- the lowest baggage fee for 40-kg baggage from only PhP 1,690 and  PhP 2,180 respectively.

AirAsia allows up to 2-pcs of check-in baggage across all baggage products (20/25/30/40 KG) for all domestic and international passengers.

AirAsia was recently awarded as AirAsia awarded Asia’s Leading Low-Cost Airline 2021 and Asia’s Low-Cost Airline Cabin Crew 2021 at the 28th World Travel Awards, the Business Innovation Award at the 2021 World Airline Awards from the aviation experts at Flightglobal, Best Low-Cost Airline in the world and in Asia for the 12th consecutive year by international airport and airline review and ranking site Skytrax.
