AirAsia Flights To and From Labuan Bajo Affected by Mount Lewotobi Eruption

JAKARTA, November 10, 2024 – AirAsia flights to and from Labuan Bajo have been affected since November 4, 2024, due to the eruption of Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki in East Flores, East Nusa Tenggara, creating unsafe conditions for flights.

The impacted AirAsia flights include QZ 860 (Jakarta-Labuan Bajo), QZ 861 (Labuan Bajo-Jakarta), QZ 646 & QZ 642 (Bali-Labuan Bajo), QZ 647 & QZ 643 (Labuan Bajo-Bali), AK 336 (Kuala Lumpur-Labuan Bajo), and AK 337 (Labuan Bajo-Kuala Lumpur).

This decision is based on Notam No: A3548/24 NOTAMR A3547/24 and A3554/24 NOTAMR A3548/24, which guided AirAsia management to implement several flight delays and cancellations.

"AirAsia understands that this situation is inconvenient for all passengers. However, this decision was made to ensure the safety and security of passengers and crew. A thorough safety evaluation is being conducted by all relevant parties as we monitor conditions at Mount Lewotobi Laki-Laki and the results of paper tests for volcanic ash.

Indonesia AirAsia’s management continues to collaborate with relevant authorities to prepare several scenarios to minimize the impact on flights if this situation persists in the coming days.

  1. Move Flight or reschedule within 30 days from the cancellation date without additional charges,

  2. Choose AirAsia Credit Points, or

  3. Request a Full Refund (based on the original payment method).
