AirAsia Philippines Gears Up for Election Travel Rush

6 May 2025, Manila, Philippines —  AirAsia Philippines is ramping up preparations ahead of the May 12, 2025 national and local elections, anticipating heightened airport activity as voters  return to their provinces.

The World’s Best Low-Cost Airline expects a significant spike in passenger volume, with Ground Operations and Customer Happiness teams on full standby to ensure smooth airport operation during the peak travel period.

“AirAsia Philippines is proud to help bring many Filipinos home to fulfill their civic duty. Our teams across our major hubs in Manila, Cebu, Aklan, Tacloban, Palawan, and Iloilo are ready to serve so guests can focus on exercising their patriotic responsibility. We also encourage our guests to plan ahead, monitor their flight schedules, and ensure timely arrival for voting day in their provinces,” AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head, First Officer Steve Dailisan shares.

Travelers are advised to be #AlwaysREADY Ngayong Eleksyon 2025 by arriving at the airport at least 2 hours before domestic and 3 hours before international flights to account for increased foot traffic and potential queuing delays.

Guests can also benefit from stable fares this month, as the Civil Aeronautics Board has maintained the fuel surcharge at Level 4 for May.
