AirAsia hosts Bangladeshi delegation for knowledge exchange

SEPANG, 20 August 2026 - AirAsia was honoured to welcome a high-level delegation from Bangladesh on 17 August 2026 for a knowledge-sharing visit to RedQ, AirAsia Group’s headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. 

The delegation, led by The Hon. Mr. M. Rashiduzzaman Millat, Deputy Minister, Ministry of Civil Aviation and Tourism, and comprising The Hon. Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, Executive Chairman of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) and H.E. Mr. Manjurul Karim Khan Chowdhury, High Commissioner of Bangladesh to Malaysia, visited RedQ for a knowledge-sharing programme focused on the low-cost carrier model, aviation operations and technology.

Bo Lingam, Group CEO of AirAsia Group, welcomed the visiting officials and led discussions on the Group’s business and operating model, with a focus on operational best practices and opportunities for collaboration across the aviation sector.

Bo Lingam said: “We are honoured to welcome the delegation from Bangladesh to AirAsia and share our experiences across the aviation value chain. We hope the exchange provides useful insights into our operations and creates opportunities for continued knowledge sharing and technology transfer between our two markets.”

The programme included an executive briefing on AirAsia’s low-cost carrier model, followed by an operational walkabout at the airport with Ground Team Red (GTR) - giving the delegation first-hand insights into the ground operations supporting AirAsia’s extensive regional network. 

The delegation also visited Asia Digital Engineering (ADE) to learn more about aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) operations and the role of technology in supporting fleet reliability and operational efficiency. The visit concluded with a dinner hosted by Tan Sri Tony Fernandes, the Chief Executive Officer of Capital A Berhad (formerly AirAsia Group Berhad).
