AirAsia celebrates 56th Asean Day with spectacular surprises onboard

SEPANG, 10 August 2023 - Asean Day is celebrated every 8th of August to commemorate the establishment of the 10 nations that comprise the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). As the only airline flying to all Asean countries, AirAsia celebrated this special day with a spectacular surprise for its guests from some well-known names.

10 culturally-clad AirAsia Allstars decked in traditional attire to mark the Asean countries - Malaysia, Brunei, Cambodia, Thailand, Indonesia, Myanmar, Singapore, Laos, Vietnam and the Philippines, greeted elated guests at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminal 2).

After a round of cheers on-ground, guests on flight AK713 to Singapore were then given a delightful surprise with our special guests on board - singing sensations David Foster, Katharine McPhee-Foster, Michael Bolton, Robert Peabo Bryson, Dato' Siti Nurhaliza, and Loren Allred. A fun round of friendly competition with Grammy-winner David Foster ensued, where two lucky winners were handed a pair of David Foster & Friends concert tickets after completing the lyrics of one of his iconic songs.
