AirAsia welcomes ATSB report AO-2017-070
SYDNEY, 2 May 2018 – AirAsia welcomes the report AO-2017-070 from the Australian Transport Safety Bureau (ATSB) which follows a comprehensive 10-month investigation that reviewed every aspect of this incident.
The report underlines the calm, skillful actions of the crew of AirAsia X Flight D7207 in diverting and landing the plane and its guests safely in Brisbane.
Their response was testament to the outstanding safety and training culture we have at AirAsia, and we are pleased the report reflects that.
This was an unprecedented incident and, as the report confirms, the crew were well-trained and prepared to manage this rare and unexpected situation.
Safety at AirAsia has always been our number one priority. As part of this commitment, AirAsia X recently attained its Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) registration for the third consecutive time.
IOSA certification is regarded by the industry as the global benchmark for safety management.
