AirAsia India appoints Ankur Garg as Chief Commercial Officer

Bengaluru, December 16, 2019: AirAsia India Pvt Ltd’s (AAIPL) today announced the appointment of Mr. Ankur Garg as its Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). In the new role, he will be spearheading the commercial operations of AirAsia India including Network and Revenue Management, Marketing & Sales and Cargo. Ankur will report to Mr. Sunil Bhaskaran, MD & CEO, AirAsia India.

Speaking on his appointment, Mr. Sunil Bhaskaran, MD and CEO, AirAsia India, said “We are delighted to welcome Ankur to AirAsia’s India senior leadership team. It is an exciting time for Indian aviation industry and with Ankur’s experience and knowledge of this sector, we are confident he will help us drive the next growth phase for the organization.”

Ankur Garg holds a Bachelor's Degree from IIT-Delhi and PGDM from IIM-Ahmedabad and has prior senior leadership experience in the Indian aviation industry. He is a seasoned professional with more than 14 years of experience and apart from aviation industry, has also worked in corporate strategy and management consulting across industries like technology, transportation, infrastructure and government. Before working in the aviation industry, he has worked with companies like HCL Infosystems Ltd and KPMG Advisory Services.

Ankur Garg takes over from Mr. Sanjay Kumar, AirAsia India’s Chief Operation Officer (COO). As earlier, Capt. Manish Uppal, Head of Operations, AirAsia India continues to report to Mr. Sunil Bhaskaran, MD & CEO.
