BRISBANE, 26 June 2019 - AirAsia’s long-haul affiliate, AirAsia X Thailand (Code XJ) has taken its inaugural flight from Don Mueang Airport to Brisbane in Queensland, Australia, with flight XJ310, the first scheduled AirAsia flight to touch down Brisbane.

AirAsia hosted a special welcoming ceremony for passengers of the inaugural flight both in Bangkok and Brisbane, affirming itself as Thailand's first low-cost long-haul carrier to connect the Kingdom and Australia. The event was well received by both Thai and international travellers and is a reflection of the airline's excitement and creation of new travel opportunities. The new route is expected to increase Thailand's tourism sectors earning potential.

AirAsia X Thailand currently utilises a fleet of 10 Airbus A330-300 aircraft flying from Bangkok (Don Mueang Airport) to 10 destinations in 4 countries such as Seoul of South Korea; Tokyo, Sapporo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka of Japan; Shanghai, Shenyang and Tianjin of Greater China; and Brisbane of Australia.
