Flights into Melaka International Airport on 4-5 July 2019

SEPANG, 3 July 2019 - AirAsia confirms flight AK6284 (Penang to Melaka) and AK6285 (Melaka to Penang) today are cancelled as the VHF omnidirectional range (VOR) navigational aid and Instrument Landing System (ILS) at Melaka International Airport are both currently inoperable.

At least one system is required for AirAsia to be able to operate flights into Melaka International Airport.

AirAsia will resume normal operations of its Melaka service on 6 July 2019 when the VOR is expected to be back online. Until then, AirAsia flights to/from Melaka on 4-5 July 2019 will be cancelled.

All affected guests have been contacted and offered alternative options to reach their intended destination. They are entitled to choose one of the following service recovery options: 

Option 1: Move flight: Change to a new travel date on the same route within 30 calendar days from original flight date without additional cost and subject to seat availability; OR 

Option 2: Credit Account: Retain the value of fare in a credit account for future travel with AirAsia. The online Credit Account to be redeemed within 90 calendar days from the date of issue, for travel date of your choice; OR 

Option 3: Full Refund: Full refund. Obtain a full refund in the amount equivalent to your booking in the form of original payment. Refund requests can be made through AVA at support.airasia.com. Refunds for bookings made through travel agents, including online travel agents, must be done via the travel agent from which the booking was made.
