AirAsia increases flight frequencies to Sarawak

Celebrate Valentine’s Day with promo fares on other domestic and international flights

SEPANG, 7 FEB 2022 -  Travellers planning to fly to Sarawak can now look forward to more choices of flight timing as AirAsia is increasing its flight frequencies to Kuching, Sibu, Bintulu and Miri with a total of 319 flights weekly from 14 Feb onwards. 

Flights connecting Peninsular Malaysia to these four cities in Sarawak can be booked through the airasia Super App by clicking on the ‘Flights’ icon with one-way fares from RM108 or pay with 10,800 airasia points. Guests with credit accounts may use them to redeem for these flights as well.

Aside from the additional frequencies into Sarawak, AirAsia is also having promotional fares to celebrate Valentine’s Day with one-way fares from as low as RM18 or pay with only 1,800 airasia Points for domestic flights to destinations such as Penang, Langkawi, Kota Kinabalu, Tawau, Miri and more. International flights to Bangkok, Phuket, Phnom Penh, Singapore and more are also available with one-way fares from RM99 or pay with only 9,900 airasia Points. Guests can book this promotional fare from now until 13 February 2022, and travel from 14 Feb until 30 Sept 2022. AirAsia will be partnering with Visa to offer RM15 off for guests who book their flights with a Visa card with a minimum spend of RM200 during the promotion period.

AirAsia has spent the period of downtime in travel over the past 20 months to further improve and revamp its flight procedures and processes. In the highest interest of safety and wellbeing of all of our guests and employees, only fully-vaccinated employees will operate flights and be on-duty at airport terminals and likewise, only fully-vaccinated guests are accepted onboard.  As part of its robust Covid-19 mitigation plan, AirAsia has made it mandatory for guests to check-in via the airasia Super App and launched a unique FACES facial recognition boarding system that will make the entire journey fully digital and contactless.

All AirAsia’s aircraft are properly maintained according to procedures set by the manufacturer. AirAsia has set up an in-house maintenance, repair and operations (MRO) unit called Asia Digital Engineering that provides services not only to AirAsia but also other airlines. Likewise, all its pilots and cabin crew are regularly trained for mandatory refresher courses and ongoing retraining so that they are always on top of their job.
