Capital A ties up with SOCSO to strengthen economic growth with employment opportunities in tech
KUALA LUMPUR, 11 February 2023 - Capital A Berhad (Capital A) has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Social Security Organisation (SOCSO) to form a collaboration to create more employment opportunities for targeted groups such as school-leavers, graduates, B40 groups, persons with disabilities (PWD), professionals and more.
The collaboration between SOCSO and Capital A’s edutech arm, airasia academy aims to support the nation’s economic growth by building a more inclusive pool of professionally trained tech talents and connecting them with highly in-demand tech job opportunities across the country.
SOCSO’s partnership with airasia academy also includes job placement via their framework including the Contribution collection database and MYFutureJobs, the Malaysian National Employment portal for all job seekers and employers using artificial intelligence (AI) technology and matching algorithm to ensure the most accurate job match based on their skills and competencies.
President (Investment and Ventures) of Capital A, Aireen Omar said: “The economy is now on the fast track to recovery with a growing demand for tech talents in various sectors that are powering through their digital transformation.
“Our partnership with SOCSO will bring in more participants to be trained and placed by airasia academy and create more lucrative job opportunities for the reskilled and upskilled workforce as well as the new generation of tech talents for the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0).”
Aireen spoke after signing and exchanging the MOA with Chief Executive Officer of SOCSO, Dato’ Sri Mohamed Azman Aziz at the MYFutureJobs Career Carnival 2023 held in Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
The two-day carnival is joined by more than 100 employers from various sectors nationwide offering more inclusive job opportunities. To achieve this mission, SOCSO also partners up with the National Tech Association Malaysia (PIKOM), Malaysia Board of Technologists (MBOT), Malaysia Petroleum Resources Corporation (MPRC) and Management & Science University (MSU).
Meanwhile, Aireen added that airasia academy will upskill and reskill SOCSO staff in Digital and Soft Skills with On Demand Learning (ODL) subscription to promote lifelong learning culture within the organisation.
“We will implement and utilise our newly developed Learning Management System (LMS) to help monitor, track and assess the learning process of SOCSO’s staff. The LMS will also act as a platform for SOCSO to upload their training modules and learning materials for its employees,” she adds.
Recently recognised for its contribution towards Capital A’s (previously known as AirAsia Berhad) achievements in human capital development by the Human Resource Development Corporation (HRDC), airasia academy plays a pivotal role in building a tech talent pipeline to bridge the skills gap by reskilling and upskilling the current and budding workforce to be more agile and competitive in the digital economy.
The region’s fastest growing one-stop edutech platform provides a comprehensive ecosystem to fulfil the education and employment needs of all learners with affordable, accessible and inclusive ODL, accredited instructor-led trainings (ILT) for in-demand tech courses such as Digital Marketing, Cloud Infrastructure, Data Analytics, Software Engineering and Cybersecurity to the LMS which streamlines and elevates the learners journey as well as Job Placement service for its job-ready graduates.
