AirAsia signs school-enterprise Cooperation Agreement with Civil Aviation University of China to establish scholarships and broaden Communication and Aviation Professionals Training Channels
TIANJIN,29 May 2023 - AirAsia and Civil Aviation University of China (CAUC) signed a school-enterprise cooperation agreement recently, in which both parties will leverage the location advantages of the regional airlines under AirAsia and the teaching and research resources of the CAUC, to jointly support the resumption of China-Asean air routes and deepen China-Asean civil aviation cooperation.
His Excellency Raja Dato’ Nushirwan Zainal Abidin, Ambassador of Malaysia to China,attended the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement and the launch event of the AirAsia Scholarship Program at the CAUC. He said: “I appreciate the trust in Malaysian companies from Civil Aviation University of China and encourage AirAsia to ensure the very success of this collaboration. I hope that AirAsia will benefit from the most pioneering knowledge, research and technology of the civil aviation industry in China, meanwhile Civil Aviation University of China can extend its academic accomplishment to more ASEAN countries through AirAsia.
“This year marks the 10th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Malaysia and next year, we will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of our diplomatic relations. I look forward to witnessing more collaboration between Chinese universities and Malaysian companies after the successful partnership today.”
President of Civil Aviation University of China, Ding Shuiting said:“The scholarships and grants that AirAsia has established at our university provide more opportunities for our students to gain practical experience. For the recipients, these scholarships are not only material wealth but also valuable spiritual wealth, which will inspire them to be proactive and work hard. Since its first entry into the China mainland in 2005, AirAsia has focused on developing point-to-point direct flights from Southeast Asia to the Chinese mainland. It spared no efforts to promote the concept of low cost travel. Upon the adjustment of epidemic prevention and control policies in the Chinese mainland at the beginning of this year, AirAsia has gradually resumed the operation and sales of 34 routes at 16 flight points in the Chinese mainland. AirAsia operates 205 weekly flights in the Chinese mainland at present, which has returned to 63% of those before Covid. This number is expected to reach 100% by July.
