AirAsia joins TAT to Unveil Second ‘Amazing New Chapters’ Plane Livery Proves our readiness to welcome back foreign visitors, support travel to secondary cities

BANGKOK,13 January 2023 - The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) has joined hands with AirAsia Thailand to unveil a second aircraft with the “Amazing New Chapters” design livery, in conjunction with TAT’s “Amazing Thailand, Amazing New Chapters” concept this year. This plane livery is part of the efforts to further push the recovery Thailand’s tourism sector, both domestically and internationally.

The latest Amazing New Chapters aircraft livery is the second to result from the cooperation between TAT and AirAsia Thailand. The first was unveiled in September 2022 to mark the alleviation of the COVID-19 pandemic. The aesthetics of this second aircraft livery has been enhanced both internally and externally with Thai tourism highlights and feature images of the Kingdom’s mountains, beaches, Songkran and Loy Krathong festivities and exquisite fruits and cuisines. The aircraft will be serving both domestic and international flights.

Mr. Krid Pattanasan, Head of Government Relations for AirAsia Thailand, explained that AirAsia has been working together closely with the Tourism Authority of Thailand to further stimulate and fast track the recovery of tourism industry in Thailand. With AirAsia Thailand holding the largest share of the domestic low-cost air travel market and having an expansive network that covers Thailand, ASEAN, India & South Asia, Japan and China, it is well equipped to serve as a medium for connecting travellers and communicating Thailand’s “Amazing New Chapters” messages, which are connected toevery region of the country and cover the 5Fs of “Food, Fight, Film, Festival and Fashion”.

“The year 2023 is an important opportunity for Thai tourism, and AirAsia Thailand expects to transport up to 20 million guests this year as foreign travel is recovering robustly and Thailand remains a top destination. AirAsia Thailand and TAT have continuously worked together to promote travel in Thailand through roadshows abroad. Having a second ‘Amazing Thailand, Amazing New Chapters’ aircraft livery  will open up new perspectives on Thai tourism and reaffirm our readiness to welcome back visitors to Thailand,” Mr. Krid said.

To commemorate the inauguration of the new aircraft livery, the plane with the new Amazing New Chapters today served flight FD3358 from Don Mueang to Udon Thani as part of the “Michelin in Esan” Thai culinary tourism activity. Among the passengers on the flight was  Mr Yuthasak Supasorn, Governor of the Tourism Authority of Thailand.
