SEPANG, 11 June 2018 – AirAsia invites you to visit the Land of Smiles with its latest three times weekly direct service between Kota Kinabalu and the Thai capital of Bangkok.

Operated by AirAsia Thailand (carrier code FD), the new flight will take off to Bangkok Don Mueang Airport (DMK) from Kota Kinabalu International Airport on 16 August 2018, with promotional all-in fares from only RM99* one way.

Book from today until 17 June 2018 for travel between 16 August 2018 and 13 August 2019 on airasia.com or the AirAsia mobile app.

AirAsia Thailand CEO Santisuk Klongchaiya said, “Our latest route connecting Kota Kinabalu and Bangkok affirms our commitment to making Asean smaller. AirAsia is the only airline to operate a direct service between the two cities, and indeed, between East Malaysia and Thailand.

He added: “Last year, Malaysians accounted for the second-largest number of foreign visitors to Thailand**, and we hope this new service will not only make it easier for those living in Kota Kinabalu to visit Bangkok but also encourage Thais to explore what Sabah and Borneo have to offer.”

The vibrant city of Bangkok is the most visited city in the world, welcoming tourists from all over with an intoxicating blend of culture, food, attractions and activities, from sprawling marketplaces and opulent temples and palaces to flavourful street food, traditional Thai massage or just chilling by the Chao Phraya riverside.

AirAsia currently operates the most connections between Malaysia and Thailand with a total of nine routes - Kuala Lumpur-Bangkok Don Mueang 84 times weekly, Penang-Bangkok Don Mueang 14 times weekly, Johor Bahru-Bangkok Don Mueang 11 times weekly, Kuala Lumpur-Hat Yai 11 times weekly, Kuala Lumpur-Hua Hin four times weekly, Kuala Lumpur-Chiang Mai seven times weekly, Kuala Lumpur-Phuket seven times weekly, Kuala Lumpur-Krabi 21 times weekly, and now, Kota Kinabalu-Bangkok Don Mueang three times weekly. All of the flights are serviced by both AirAsia Malaysia (carrier code AK) and AirAsia Thailand.
