Thai AirAsia X (XJ) Offers Additional 10% Value for Credit Account Option

Thai AirAsia X (airline code XJ), a Thailand based low cost long haul carrier, has been forced to suspend all regular international services from Thailand to Japan, South Korea and Shanghai in China since March 2020, due to travel restrictions and international border closures, caused by the ongoing effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Thai AirAsia X sincerely apologises for the inconvenience to all affected guests, including the unfortunate cancellation of flights. To help minimise the inconvenience, the airline is offering updated alternate options with more flexibility for passengers who booked flights prior to 1 October 2020 as listed below:

  • Thai AirAsia X (XJ) passengers who choose to receive the Credit Account Option with the airline will have the value of their accounts increased by 10% so that  every 100 THB in the account will be worth 110 THB. Credit accounts are valid for use on any domestic flights operated by Thai AirAsia (FD) immediately, and for booking future flights with Thai AirAsia X as well as other flights across the AirAsia Group, once international services resume. To receive this option, guests can submit their request with the required information (AirAsia booking reference number, e-mail address and AirAsia BIG Member account number) to thaiairasiax@airasia.com. The Credit Account will be issued based on the total value of the booking with an extra 10% added into the guests’ registered BIG member account within 7 working days. The Credit Account option is faster to redeem and offers greater flexibility with the value of the credit account valid for bookings up to 2 years from the date that the credits are issued.

  • Thai AirAsia X (XJ) passengers who request a refund for any international flight cancellations caused by the COVID-19 pandemic will be kept up to date regarding the status of their refund by email.

The above guest information is only applicable for guests with a cancelled flight on Thai AirAsia X who booked their flights directly online prior to 1 October 2020via airasia.com. For group bookings or those made through travel agents, guests are advised to refer to their respective booking agents for further assistance.
