AirAsia takes Kaamatan & Gawai to the skies
In the lead up to the harvest festivals in East Malaysia, two AirAsia Allstars surprised guests onboard flight AK 5136 from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu and flight AK 5651 from Kuala Lumpur to Miri by donning traditional attire and serenading the awed guests with traditional dance performances onboard. Marvena Jitol, a Cabin Crew and a former Kaamatan pageant winner who was bestowed with Miss Unduk Ngadau Kudat in 2013, Miss Unduk Ngadau Kota Marudu in 2015 and Miss Grand Panampang in 2020 and Diana Elizabeth Patros from the Customer Happiness department were thrilled to be able to share their culture and heritage with the other guests onboard in conjunction with Kaamatan and Gawai Dayak this year, and hoped that it inspired others to appreciate the deep-rooted history behind the festivities.
