AirAsia X embarks on a heartwarming mission with Women’s Aid Organisation

As AirAsia X (AAX) reaches new heights in its journey as a medium- to long-haul airline, we remain firmly grounded in our commitment to serving the underserved communities.

In conjunction with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, AAX Allstars from diverse departments joined forces with the aim of bringing about positive change through an initiative at one of the Women’s Aid Organisation’s (WAO) shelters in Klang Valley.

More than 30 Allstars enthusiastically participated in this meaningful initiative, commencing with an insightful introduction from the WAO team. The day began with a presentation by WAO, shedding light on their crucial role in combating violence against women, underscoring the challenges they face, including the need to relocate shelters to ensure the safety of survivors from external threats.

United in Purpose

Harnessing the spirit of unity, Allstars were divided into two groups, rolling up their sleeves to embark on their tasks. Demonstrating the profound impact of teamwork, they dedicated themselves to setting up the shelter's interior and engaged in a thorough spring cleaning, creating a safer and cleaner living environment for survivors. By the end of the day, multiple pieces of furniture were assembled, and both the ground and first floors of the shelter were meticulously cleaned.

Empathy in Action

The day concluded with a heartfelt presentation from the WAO representative, underscoring not only the organisation's commitment to ending violence against women but also their advocacy for gender equality in Malaysia. The shelter holds immense significance for survivors of domestic violence, encompassing women, refugees, and children.

We gained insights into the specialised training required to protect women from violence, whether through contributing professional knowledge or offering support via hotlines. Understanding the challenges faced by survivors emphasised the organization's pivotal role in empowering women.

Gratitude and Pride

We express profound gratitude to the Allstars for generously dedicating their invaluable time to this heartwarming activity. Witnessing the tangible impact of collective efforts on the lives of those in the shelter fills us with immense pride.

This experience reaffirms our commitment to actively engage in endeavours that genuinely make a difference in the lives of others, aligning with the core values of AirAsia, where gender equality is upheld, ensuring equal opportunities for all.

Our 'Dare to Dream' slogan inspires us to step out of our comfort zones, challenge ourselves, and speak up. We extend our gratitude to WAO for this remarkable opportunity and eagerly anticipate future collaborations, continuing our journey of making a positive impact on the world.
