AirAsia increases frequency from Tiruchirappalli to Kuala Lumpur with 4 daily direct flights

TIRUCHIRAPPALLI, 24 March 2017 – AirAsia is pleased to announce the increase of direct flights from Tiruchirappalli to Kuala Lumpur with 4 daily flights.

The additional frequency connecting Tiruchirappalli & Kuala Lumpur will commence on 26 April 2017 and will be operated by AirAsia with the flight code AK.

Spencer Lee, Head of Commercial for AirAsia Berhad said, “When we launched this exclusive route in 2008, we were the only airline that operated direct flights from Tiruchirappalli to Kuala Lumpur. Over the years that followed, we witnessed a strong and upward demand by travelers of both countries. In fact in 2016 alone, we flew more than 178,000 passengers for this route. We are confident that the added frequency of 4 daily flights will see a higher growth in numbers and we will continue to enhance the connectivity between both countries with India being one of our key markets.”

The top 5 travellers for the Tiruchirappalli - Kuala Lumpur route are from India, Malaysia, Australia, Singapore, Indonesia with Kuala Lumpur being AirAsia’s biggest hub that flies to over 120 destinations across 26 countries.
