AirAsia Now Flies Direct “Bangkok-Gaya”! Trace the Steps of the Lord Buddha to 4 of the Faiths Holy Sites
AirAsia delivers a much awaited route with 4 direct flights a week from Bangkok-Gaya, India, inviting all to the land of Buddhism where the Lord Buddha was born, achieved enlightenment, performed his first sermon and reached nirvana. Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of Thai AirAsia, made known Gaya of India has been a destination AirAsia has wished to offer direct flights from Bangkok to for a long time now due to high demand from Thailand’s Buddhist travelers. The new route now offers direct access for devout Buddhists or members of the Buddhist clergy who previously had to fly from Bangkok to Indian cities such as Kolkata and connect via domestic flight or vehicle to Gaya. Both new pilgrims and repeat visitors to the sacred destination can now easily follow in the footsteps of the Lord Buddha and witness where he achieved enlightenment, held his first sermon and reached nirvana.

Direct flights from Bangkok-Gaya (India) will be offered by AirAsia 4 times a week on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Flight FD122 departs Don Mueang Airport at 8.20 hrs to arrive in Gaya, India at 10.10 hrs, the perfect time to continue on to the city’s holy sites. Flight FD123 meanwhile departs Gaya at 10.40 hrs to arrive at Don Mueang Airport at 14.50 hrs.
