AirAsia enters new era as AirAsia Group Berhad, advancing its vision to become the world’s first low-cost network carrier
KUALA LUMPUR, 9 July 2026 - AirAsia Group Berhad (“AirAsia Group” or “the Group”, formerly known as AirAsia X Berhad) has successfully completed its name change from AirAsia X Berhad to AirAsia Group Berhad, following shareholders’ approval at the Company's 19th Annual General Meeting on 25 June 2026 and the registration of the new name by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM), effective 2 July 2026.
More than a corporate name change, AirAsia Group Berhad reflects a stronger, more integrated airline group built to capture the next phase of aviation growth across Asia and beyond. The consolidation brings AirAsia closer to its ambition of becoming the world’s first low-cost network carrier, combining greater scale and connectivity with the affordability and agility that defines the brand. This positions the Group to optimise its network, strengthen operations and continue making air travel more accessible for millions of guests.
