AirAsia advises guests to plan ahead for airport travel during the 47th ASEAN Summit

SEPANG, 24 October 2025 - In conjunction with the 47th ASEAN Summit and related activities, the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) has announced rolling closures and traffic diversions to and from Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA T2) from 26 to 28 October 2025, with dry runs taking place from 23 to 25 October.

AirAsia advises all guests travelling to and from Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 (KLIA T2) between these dates to plan their journeys and consider using alternative rail services such as the Express Rail Link (KLIA Express or KLIA Transit).

Guests are encouraged to allow more time for travel and arrive at least two hours before domestic flights and three hours before international flights. Major highways, including the KLIA Expressway, ELITE Highway (KLIA–Putrajaya), MEX Expressway and KL–Seremban Expressway, may have temporary closures and diversions to make way for official motorcades.

Check-in counters at KLIA T2 will close one hour before the scheduled departure time. Guests are encouraged to complete self check-in via the AirAsia MOVE app, available from 14 days up to one hour before departure and use the e-Boarding Pass accepted at all airports in Malaysia and many other destinations across AirAsia’s network.

Guests may check their flight status at airasia.com/flightstatus, get the latest travel updates and important information on the AirAsia MOVE app or at airasia.com.
