HANOI, 15 October 2019 - Forty AirAsia Allstars from across Asean have thrown their support behind AirAsia’s latest #AllstarsDoGood initiative, Hammock Amok.

As part of the initiative, decommissioned fire hoses donated by the Fire Rescue Department of Malaysia will be repurposed to create enrichment tools such as hammocks, climbing ropes, log sacks and feeders to enhance the welfare of rescued captive animals at the Hanoi Wildlife Rescue Centre.

Established in 1996, the rescue centre has played a crucial part in rescuing confiscated animals from the illegal wildlife trade. The animals are transported to the centre, where they are provided rehabilitation support before subsequently being returned to the wild.

AirAsia Group Head of Culture Attila Emam said, “We’re now in the sixth edition of #AllstarsDoGood Hammock Amok, with Vietnam being the fourth market where we’ve run this initiative following successful programmes in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. What started out as a collaboration between AirAsia Foundation and APE Malaysia two years ago has turned into a highly-anticipated regional initiative for AirAsia Allstars to get involved in.”

Established by AirAsia’s People and Culture department, #AllstarsDoGood encourages Allstars to volunteer for a good cause. Since 2017, 8,712 volunteer hours have been put into #AllstarsDoGood initiatives across Asean.
