AirAsia strengthens regional travel and sports lifestyle focus through AirAsia Kallang Run
SINGAPORE, 27 September 2025 - AirAsia marked a new milestone in its regional community engagement with the successful debut of the first-ever AirAsia Kallang Run in Singapore, organised by Kallang Alive Sport Management (KASM).
The event, held at the Singapore Sports Hub, brought together runners from Singapore and beyond, highlighting AirAsia’s broader commitment to building sports-driven communities while reinforcing its role in making tourism and lifestyle experiences across Asia more affordable and accessible.
The AirAsia Kallang Run welcomed thousands of runners from across Singapore and neighbouring countries such as Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and more, underscoring how sports tourism can connect communities while boosting Singapore’s role as a key ‘virtual hub’ in the region. With AirAsia’s extensive low-cost network, the airline continues to position itself as a bridge between sports, travel and cultural discovery.
Dato’ Captain Fareh Mazputra, CEO of AirAsia Malaysia said: “At AirAsia, we believe tourism is more than just travel; it is about bringing people together. The AirAsia Kallang Run is all about community engagement, connecting people across borders through shared passions like sports, culture and events. This initiative reflects our ongoing commitment to community engagement and inclusivity. We’re not only encouraging affordable regional travel, but also creating meaningful opportunities for local and regional communities to connect and experience the unique energy of each city.”
The AirAsia RedRun series, which was held in Bali and Surabaya (Indonesia), and to be held in Penang (Malaysia) and Phuket (Thailand), is planned to integrate sports participation into AirAsia’s broader strategy of democratising travel. By aligning lifestyle experiences with its affordable connectivity, the airline seeks to amplify Singapore’s role as a sports and tourism hub, while extending similar opportunities across the region.
