Thai AirAsia launches new route connecting Chiang Mai-Taipei-Sapporo
Bangkok, 25 March 2025 - Thai AirAsia announces the launch of a new route connecting the northern Thailand city of Chiang Mai to Taipei and Sapporo.
The daily flights are set to take off from Chiang Mai on 15 June, with a short stopover in Taipei to pick up and drop off passengers before heading to Sapporo, Japan.
For this new route, a special promotional price starts at 7,620 Baht per one-way flight from Chiang Mai to Sapporo. Bookings are available from March 25, 2025, to March 30, 2025, for travel between June 15, 2025, and October 25, 2025, exclusively through AirAsia MOVE or www.airasia.com.
Mr. Santisuk Klongchaiya, CEO of Thai AirAsia, stated that the forecast demand for this new route has been very positive both ways. This opens up new opportunities for the airline to expand its market from Chiang Mai to Taipei and Japan throughout the year.
Sapporo is one of the most popular destinations for travelers and holiday makers. With this announcement, AirAsia is expanding its third Fifth Freedom route from between Thailand and Japan, which is incredibly popular during the summer season, when Sapporo is just as beautiful as in winter, full of blossoming flowers and delicious food. At the same time we see strong demand from Sapporro to Taipei and onto Chiang Mai.
