Travel Advisory : Service Recovery Options of Thai AirAsia X

Bangkok, 24th May 2022 - Thai AirAsia X (airline code XJ), a Thailand based low cost long haul carrier, is offering updated alternate options with more flexibility for guests with flights booked and scheduled for travel from Thailand to Japan, South Korea, and China.

To help minimize the inconvenience, options available for guests are detailed below:

  • Refund:  Guests with all entitled XJ bookings that have submitted the request will be considered gradual refunds after the flight resumes to normal operation. 

  • Credit account: Guests with all XJ bookings that request before 24th May 2022 will be still entitled an additional 10% top up of the amount paid in that booking but the exception to the bookings submission for Credit Account issuance after the mentioned period will  be entitled the normal Credit Account. The guests who request and apply for the credit account can still utilize the credit account to purchase the service of Airasia and cover for the service of AirAsia's group.

    Credit accounts are valid for use on any domestic flights operated by Thai AirAsia (FD) immediately, and for booking future flights with Thai AirAsia X as well as other flights across the AirAsia Group, once international services resume.

Guests can use AVA, on support.airasia.com or airasia.com to make their selection. Guests who wish to receive the option must process their preferred alternate travel plans no less than 48 hours prior to their original scheduled flight date.

The above guest information is only applicable for guests with flights on Thai AirAsia X who booked their flights directly online via airasia.com. For group bookings or those made through travel agents, guests are advised to refer to their respective booking agents for further assistance.
