Allstars need no reason to come together, but throughout the month of Deepavali each year, there is a little extra burst of colours in the air for all of us at AirAsia. Deepavali, or sometimes known as Diwali needs no introduction. Primarily celebrated by Indian Hindu communities throughout most of south and southeast Asian countries, it is a special time of year dedicated to commemorate the victory of good over evil and light over darkness. 

Mental health awareness is a cause close to every Allstar’s heart, and we’re always up for the chance to advocate for its importance and spread awareness ‒ and yesterday was a testament to that.

This time of year has always been exceptionally special for Malaysians. A little over two weeks ago, we celebrated our country’s 66th year of independence and yesterday, we honoured the establishment of the Malaysian federation exactly 60 years ago.

Merdeka is celebrated in full grandeur each year at AirAsia ‒ and this year’s 66th Malaysia Independence Day festivities were no different except that people can now reconnect easier thanks to seamless travel, post the pandemic.

Asean Day is celebrated every 8th of August to commemorate the establishment of the 10 nations that comprise the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). As the only airline flying to all Asean countries, AirAsia celebrated this special day with a spectacular surprise for its guests from some well-known names.
